  Good morning!

A,B:Good morning

B:Please have a seat.

Thank you.

B:May I have your name?

My name is....

B:Where are you from?

I live in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. But this morning
I came from Himeji. So I took JR Shinkansen, or the Bullet train to come here.

A: Why did you come from Himeji?

I came from Himeji because my family including my wife and twin babies stayed at my parents' home last night.

A: Do you often go to Himeji ? How far is it from Nishinomiya and Himeji?
On my days off, I sometimes get back to my hometown Himeji and guide foreign tourists in and around the castle as a voluntary guide. It's not so far from Nishinomiya to Himeji. It took one and half hours by car.

A: So while guiding, have you met an interesting question?
I was asked about Japanese wooden structures while guiding an architect from the States.

A: How did you explain it?

I explained that Japanese wooden structures don't use many nails, so they are flexible and they have survived many earthquakes.

A: OK. We have to ask you some questions.

Yes, please.

A: If you have some guests from foreign countries, how would you entertain them at night?

You mentioned that we have some guests at home, didn't you?

A: Yes.

Personally I would have dinner together at home. I like hot pot meals,
especially sukiyaki, then everyone can take part in preparing the meal and it is very nutritious because it contains both meat and vegetables.
So I would like to share food together.

A: Then, where would you take guests outside?
I would take them to the place where they can enjoy the night view of the city.

A: Next question! Do you know what Shichi-go-san is?
Shichi-go-san is a celebration of children. Children, boys and girls of three years old, boys of five and girls of seven are taken to a shrine in hopes that they will grow healthy.
Sorry.

A: Have your children experienced that?

No, they haven't. They are 15 months. But I took them to Omiyamairi which is the first visit to a shrine. And I am looking forward to taking them to a shrine again.

A: I'm sure you do. That's all for today.
Oh, thank you.

AB: Thank you.
