A,B: Good morning. Please have a seat.

Good morning.

B: Put your bag on the chair.

A: Thank you for coming today.

You're welcome.

B: May I have your name, please?

My name is....

B: Where do you come from?

I'm from Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture.

B: Is it Kawasaki?

No, Kasai. It's located in the center of Hyogo Prefecture.

A: I hear it costs a lot to park a car in Tokyo. Please explain why.

I don't know very well about the situation in Tokyo, so let me talk about that in Osaka. I don't think it costs a lot to park a car in Osaka.
Competition in the market is fierce in Osaka. Therefore the industry needs to cut cost to stay competitive. That's why parking fees are not that expensive compared to those in Tokyo, I guess.

A: What is 「椀(ワン)」?

(最初ワンと言われて何のことか分からず、聞き返す)

'Wan' is a bowl in which you put rice or soup.

A: Does each member of a family have their own bowls?

Yes, they use their own bowls.

A: Please tell me about the pension system in recent years.

The pension system in Japan is on the brink of collapse. Also scandals on the pension system have been revealed recently. So the system has lost public confidence. However, the system itself is very important, and I hope the government will be willing to reform the system. Then the nation would be better off, I hope.

A: Recently Japan has been experiencing a lot of natural disasters. What do you think about it?

(その質問をされるのではないかと危惧していました。)

I hate it.

I lost a friend in the Great Hanshin Earthquake, in which more than 6000 people were killed. But the friend was not one of them ; he killed himself five years ago. His company was destroyed by the earthquake, but he restarted his business and worked very hard. I gave him some money to help him. However, he ended up with a large sum of debt and went bankrupt.
Then he killed himself. Now I really feel sorry for people who suffered the disastrous earthquake in Niigata. I do hope that the government will give as much help as possible to them, and I sent them some money, towels and sweaters.

A :OK, that's all. Thank you for telling us your personal experience.

Thank you very much.
