Good morning. Very nice to meet you all.

AF Good morning. You look familiar. I met you before.

Really?

AF Did you take the interview last year?

No, this is my first time.

BF Tell me your name.

My name is ››››.

BF Where are you from?

I'm from ››››, Hyogo Prefecture.

AF Where?

It's ››››, very close to Osaka, and I commute to Osaka.

AF What do you do?

I work for a Japanese chemical company. We are producing various kinds of chemicals from petroleum, and exporting them to all over the world.

AF You said "petrochemical"? What do you make from petroleum?

We make preservatives for cosmetics, called "paraben."

AF Oh, paraben!

Yes. Recently paraben has been creating issues. We have 70% of the world share. We also make intermediates for pigment and raw materials for plastics. I'm in charge of marketing and worked at the New York office for 5 years and was transferred to Osaka a year ago.

AF Oh, New York?! Are you happy to come back to Japan?

I have mixed feelings. I love New York very much, and I miss it. But I also like living in Osaka, as this is my first time to live in this area.

AF So where are from originally?

I'm originally from Tokyo.

AF Tell me the differences between Tokyo and Osaka people.

I think Osaka people are proud of themselves and they don't mind speaking their dialect anywhere. They show their feelings openly and directly, meanwhile Tokyo people don't show their feelings. So Osaka people say that it is difficult to understand what Tokyo people are thinking and have to read their minds. Tokyo people say Osaka people are loud and talk about money all the time. I'm from Tokyo, but I like Osaka people better because I donft have to read their minds.

AF OK. Suppose I visit Osaka for the first time. Where do you want to take me in Osaka?

I would like to take you to Osaka Castle. It was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It looks an old castle from a distance, but it is pretty modern inside. You can even take an elevator to the top, and you will enjoy the spectacular view from the top. If you still have time, then I would like to take you to the downtown area of Osaka, and I want you to taste Osaka cuisine such as "takoyaki."

AF OK. Next question. What is gGagakuh?

Gagaku is the dance and music the imperial musicians perform.

AF OK. Good. I enjoyed talking with you.

I enjoyed talking with you, too. Thank you very much.
