Hello.

A、B: Hello.(笑顔)

B: Please sit down.

Thank you.

B: Please tell me your name.

My name is ….

B: Where do you live?

I live in Hukui City,Hukui prefecture.

B: Oh,Hukui, you came from far away.

Yes.

B: How did you come?

I came by train.

B: So, we are going to ask you some questions.

Yes.

A: Why do Japanese take their shoes off in the house?

I think this is because in Japanese house, people normally take their shoes off. People are used to doing that when they are in a comfortable place, whether they are at home, on a bullet train or even on an airplane.

A: What is Uchiwa?

Uchiwa is a round, flat paper fan with a wooden or plastic handle. It is usually used for keeping oneself cool or funning a fire.

I think this is because we learn mainly reading and writing in school. Unfortunately we had hardly any conversation classes. Japanese can’t speak or comprehend English although they have studied English since junior high school. So many people want to speak more fluently and learn conversation. I think so.

A: Why…?

I think this is because… in Japan, wives usually handle family budget and give money to their husbands.
I think men tend to waste money using drinking or gambling and if wives give them much money, they want much more. And they may use all the money.

A: Why do Japanese work long time?

I think this is because of the Japanese work ethic. Generally, much importance is placed on work, not time off. That’s why Japanese generally do a lot of overtime work, even if they are not paid for it. I think so.

A: What is the position of the Imperial family in Japan?

Could you explain more?

A: The position of the Imperial family in Japan.

Oh, Imperial family…I think…in Japan, the emperor is the symbol of the state…and the Imperial family is the ambassador who represents Japan. I think so.

B: OK, Thank you.

Thank you.

Good-bye.

B: Bye, have a nice trip.

Thank you.
