Japan has four clear-cut season. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and rainy season between spring and summer.

I would like to ask about traditional Japanese houses. How are they different from Western style houses?

Most of the modern Western style houses have at least one traditional Japanese style room called washitsu. They have tatami matted floor, and also there is an alcove.

What is an alcove?

Alcove is a place where a hanging scroll and a vase of traditional arranged flowers are displayed.

Then which do you recommend, traditional Japanese inns or Western style hotels?

I would recommend traditional Japanese inns. There, you can enjoy atmosphere. Traditional Japanese inns are called ryokan . and the interior of ryokan is especially designed in the traditional Japanese style. Ryokan is a little expensive, although the rate include supper and breakfast. For supper, you can enjoy traditional Japanese haute cuisine called kaiseki ryori.

I will ask a couple of questions later. Is there any questions from you?

In the edo period, I heard there is a system called sankinkoutai. What is sankinkoutai?

Sankinkoutai is a system established by the third shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu. The feudal lords had to visit Edo and stay there. Their wives and children also stay there and they were kept as hostages in Edo.

Why do Japanese eat sea bream on ceremonial occasions?

The sea bream is the most auspicious fish to eat on ceremonial occasions, because the sea bream is pronounced as tai and it has the same syllable as the word medetai which means auspicious in Japanese.

Why are there so many temples in Kamakura?

In the twelfth century, the samurai class came to power. and it formed its own government called Kamakura government. And this Kamakura government protected Buddhism especially Zen Buddhism. That is why there are so many temples in Kamakura.

good That's all. Bye.

Bye Take care.

Thank you for your interview. Bye...
