A: Have you had your lunch?

No, not yet.

A: Then maybe not good afternoon.
(Aと私は笑った)
Thank you for coming today. Today, I would like to ask you three questions.
First question. The Government is planning that pupils in elementary school will have English lessons. What do you think about this?

I think it's a good idea. It's good for pupils and good for Japan. Because I think Japan will be more internationalized country and English is very important language for international exchange.

A: The next question is why Japanese people like massage, aromatherapy, ...
(その次が聞き取れなかった)

I thing this is because Japanese are very tired in their daily life due to the ongoing recession. They think these kind of treatment is effective for their body.

A: Do you often go to massage?

Yes, when I am very tired.

A: OK. Last question. Could you explain "ema"?

(最初 emmaと聞こえたが、多分ema(絵馬)のことと思い、思い切って「絵馬」で回答した)

OK. Ema is wooden plate on which various kind of pictures are painted. When people want something realized, they pray at shrine or temples. At that occasion, people will offer this ema writing their wishes on the plate and offer to shrines or temples. When their wishes are realized, they visit shrine or temples again and pray again.

A: OK. Thank you very much. Please enjoy your lunch.
