B:Please put your bag on that chair.
B:Please tell us your name.
My name is .... It's nice to see you.
B:Where do you come from?
I'm from Asagaya, Suginami Ward. It took about an hour to come here by train.
A:You said you are from Asagaya. Is there anything special there that you would like to introduce to foreign visitors?
Well, nothing special, but along the main street there are many beautiful zelcova trees. Some say it looks like the Champs Elysee. There is a souvenir shop along the street. I took some of my friends form France and the US to that shop. They really enjoyed the shop.
A:What do they sell there?
They sell things such as chopsticks, coasters, fans and many other things.
A:Do you speak in French with your friends?
No, I didn't. I didn't have time to speak French because they spoke perfect English.
A:Would you like to visit France?
Yes, I would like to some time in the future. One year ago, I went to London. It was a nice trip.
A:Recently, alternative medicine such as acupuncture has become popular. What do you think about this?
I think alternative medicine should be used as a preventive measure rather than for curing diseases.
A:What exercise do you do?
At least twenty minutes a day I take a walk with my dog.
A:Nowadays, it is said that temporary workers have increased. What do you think about this?
Maybe companies nowadays have no other way but to employ temporary workers to cut down on the labor cost. However, I don't think it is a good trend in the long run. Those temporary workers should acquire more skills so that they could be employed on a long-term basis by companies. But this will continue a little bit more in this time of recession. I can see a silver lining under the clouds though.
A:Do you think the economy will improve?
Yes, I think so. The GDP has gone up just a little, about one percent. It's a good sign. Also, the privatization of the postal services and the Japan Highway Corporation is being discussed. So I hope the economy will improve in the near future.
A:OK, that's all for the interview.
Thank you for interviewing me.
