B： Good afternoon. Please put your bags on this chair.
Please sit down on this chair.
May I ask your name and where you live now?
My name is -----------. I live in Koganei-city, the western part of Tokyo.
A,B： Ah, he also lives in Koganei-city! （AとBがお互い顔を見合わせて偶然にも同じところに住んでいるのでびっくりした様子。同時にその場の雰囲気が和やかになるのを感じた）
Is that so? （Bも小金井市に住んでいることを知ったので） I may be lucky.
A： Hello, my name is ----------. I'm going to ask you several questions. Please relax.
Nice to meet you. OK, I will.
A： Recently there has been an increasing number of restaurants where we can have dishes with discount. Do you know why they discount?
I think it is because of competitive situation of today's economy. Because of competitive economic situation, it is regarded as very common that every restaurant has to serve dishes very cheap, quickly and delicious or high quality. Nowadays, people go to restaurants which provide them with high quality for the price. And this trend applies not only restaurant business but also other fields of business.
A： OK, I see.
A： Recently, I've heard so often the word "Owan" from my Japanese friend. What is "Owan"?
Owan in Japanese, means bowl. We usually use this word when we have dishes in our family. But we usually use this word "Owan" in more casual way. For instance, when we have dinner at high-class restaurants, we usually don't use this word "Owan" but "Utsuwa" or "Iremono".
A： By the way, Western food restaurants are very popular today, do you know why? （質問を正確に思い出せないが）
People nowadays enjoy having both western and Japanese food. In other
words, they enjoy "dual life" and I think it is very good to
be able to enjoy various food or tastes of the world. But one thing which
is not good is that young people in particular tend to have Western food
only and not to have Japanese food. As they prefer to have soft food such
as hamburgers, it is not so good for their teeth because the food does
not contain any calcium.（A,Bうなずく）
A： Great. That's all questions we have for you today. （A,Bともににこにこしていた）
Thank you. I really enjoyed the interview.
