A: Hello(にこにこ),Good morning.(にこにこ)

Hello

A:Please sit down

Thank you

A: Please tell your name and where you come from?

My name is …….,I come from …city, Chiba which is about 35km east of Tokyo.

A: I will ask you some questions. Where would you recommend to foreign visitors to take? They have been to Japan once and already visited Asakusa, so where would you take them for the second visit to Japan especially in Tokyo?

I’d recommend some-antique shops or antique bazaar which is held in Togo shrine. Foreign visitors can buy a copy of wood-block printing.(A,B大きくうなずく) A nice picture of Mt.Fuji would be a great souvenir for the foreign people. There are also Japanese old pottery and so on.
People enjoy asking discount to the shop retailers.

A: I thought bargaining is considered rude in Japan.

In this case, people enjoy the whole process of bargaining. Foreign people can have a close contact with the Japanese people there. Another place I can recommend to them is Roppongi-Hills. It’s new and if they go to the 60th floor of observatory,(多分63階なので間違った情報を与えてしまった)we can see the whole Tokyo area, which is a very nice view. Actually, I’ve been there with my mother the other day. And I was very impressed by the scenery.

A: what do you think that an increasing number of Asian people are now in Japan? Japanese may have negative opinions about them.

I think that some Japanese might have discrimination against Asian people living in Japan. Because some illegal workers belong to the International criminal organization and commit serious crimes during their stay. But there are many nice Asian people in Japan. So we should not have prejudice against them.

A: Do you think it’s good to have more foreigners in Japan?

I think having more foreign people from all over the world in Japan is a good thing, because we can promote cultural exchange and promote mutual understanding between Japan and other countries.(2回もpromoteを使ってしまった×××)

A: But Chinese and other Asian people do not mix with the Japanese.

Some Japanese might have a biased view toward Asian people in Japan, but if we change our attitude toward them and try to get to know each other, I think we can change the situation.

A: So the balance is important.

Yes

A: This is the end of the interview. (思っていたよりも短いのでびっくりした。)

Thank you for the interview. Please have a wonderful afternoon.

A: Thank you. Take care.
