Good morning.

A, B, C: good morning

May I put this here?

C: Please.

C: First, May I have your name and where do you live?

I live in Fujisawa city, Kanagawa prefecture.

A: I'll give you a few simple questions.
First, why do Japanese people often study English and try to get English
licences.

Ah, it's a tough question.
I think...with the prolonged recession in Japan, we feel anxious about our future. We are now facing bunkruptcy and restructuring of our company.
So we want some titles or requirements to... survive.

A: Do companies emphasize the employee's English ability?

Yes. As for me, our company put much emphasis on our English ability.
We have to take TOEIC test every year.
This is used to test the employee's eligibility to go up the organizational ladder of the company.

A: Next question. What do you think about the Japanese professional baseball strike?

A: The Japanese professional baseball strike(strike

I was very sorry for this because I'm a fan of the Japanese professional baseball, especially the Hanshin Tigers.(3
Some officials of the Japanese professional baseball organaization tried to make two leagues into one. But I think one baseball league will decrease the number of the professional baseball players and it will lower the level of the Japanese professional baseball after all.
So considering the current situation, baseball strike can't be avoided.

A: What is "Sento?"

Ah, Sento is a neighborhood bathhouse (Cがへーっという顔をする)open to the public for a fee. According to sex, it is divided into two parts, equipped with a dressing room and a large bath tub.

A: How much does it cost?

Uhm, about 300 yen.

A: Is sento still popular?

Ah, we don't see it very often any more.
But...Although decreasing in number, it is still popular especially among older age groups.

A: Oh, I see. Thank you.

C: That's all. Thank you.

Thank you.
