A: Good afternoon! (smile)

A: Please put your bag on the right chair. Sit down, please.

Thank you.

A: Where do you come from?

I came from Fukushima Prefecture.

A: Do you live here?

1)
I think you misunderstood what I said. I live in a small town in Fukushima
Prefecture.

A: For a long time?

Yes.

A: Tell me how you moved in the Prefecture.

Sure. I lived in Fukushima-city when I was young. I worked as a teacher in
Koriyama for several years. There I met my husband, and we moved to the
town which is my home town.

A: I see. OK. Now, tell me why taxi drivers and many women in Japan wear
white gloves while driving?

The image of the color “white” is very pure. I think taxi drivers want to
drive evil spirits away with their white gloves. You see, they don’t want
to cause a traffic accident.

A:(へえ〜〜〜!というような感じで)I’ve never heard there is such a
reason. Have you?

A: Ok, next question. What do you think of a wedding ceremony at church in
Japan? Nowadays more people hold a wedding at church.

I think that’s because it looks cool. Although they don’t believe in
Two years ago one of my nephews held a wedding ceremony at church in
Koriyama. My husband and I, as well as my boys ― because they are the
groom’s cousins ― were all invited to his wedding at church. I’m not a
Christian, either, but I was very impressing with it.
I was impressed with it.

…impressed with it. Yes.

A: That’s all.

A: That’s ALL.

I really enjoyed talking with you.(これは蛇足だったのだろうか?)
Thank you.
