B: Hello, how are you?

I’m fine, thank you.

B: Please tell us your name and where you live.

My name is ○○○○. I live in ○○○○, Tokyo.

B: I’m going to ask you questions about Japan and Japanese culture.

Yes.

B: What’s roten-buro?

Roten-buro is a hot springs bath where you bathe in the open air. It is very good, because it’s surrounded by natural beauty. You can enjoy taking a bath while looking at the view around you.

B: Do you know a good roten-buro?

Yes. Last weekend, I visited Ishikawa Prefecture and went to the Yamanaka hot springs. It’s one of the most famous hot springs in Japan. The autumn leaves were beautiful there.

B: Why are cell phones very popular in Japan?

They’re popular because people use them not only to make calls but also to exchange e-mails. That’s why they’re popular.

B: Why do you think the number of international marriages is increasing?

I think it’s because a lot of people work abroad and have more chances to meet others.
Also, a lot of foreign people work in Japan, too. I think that’s why the number is increasing.

B: Do you think Japan is safe from bird flu?

No, I don’t think so. I think the government should monitor poultry factories on a regular basis.

B: That’s all. Thank you.

Thank you.
