Good Afternoon.

A: Good afternoon. Please have a seat.

Thank you.

B: What is your name?

My name is ○○○○.

B: Where do you live?

I live in the ○○○○, Tokyo, which is the northeastern part of Tokyo.

A: Thank you for being here. I’m going to ask you a couple of questions.

Okay.

A: Why are so many women in the thirties single these days?

I think it's because they want to work more. If you are married, especially if you have children, you have less time to put into your career. I think they want to spend more time and energy into their career. I also think the phenomenon is symbolized by the word, "iyashi," or comforting things. The women in their thirties love those things like "onsen," or hot spa, massage, or aerobics. And if they get married, they have less time to enjoy those. Overall I think it's the matter of convenience.

A: Do you like "rotenburo"?

Oh, I love it. Not just "rotenburo," but all the activities associated with it: getting together with friends, going away to some mountain area, enjoying bathing in "rotenburo," and also enjoying the dinner and party afterwards.

A: What do you think about the Japanese government sending the military to Iraq?

I am against it. I know there are pros and cons, but since the Constitution of Japan clearly prohibits sending military to Iraq or any overseas countries, in order to send our military, we have to change the Constitution first.

(’I know there are pros and cons about it, but…..’

A: What do you think about so many people not paying subscription fees to NHK?

Oh……I think it's a problem. There must be some kind of punishment for people not paying their fees. Without punishment, I think, this problem won't be solved. I also hope NHK to continue to exist because private TV or radio stations could be broadcasting biased news or information. So I think we should keep NHK from now on also.

A: What is "kanzashi"?

It is a traditional ornament that women put on their hair. It is very colorful and goes really well with kimono.

A: Why do many female employees have to serve tea and take copies in the office?

I think it's changing these days. Nobody does it in my office. The reason it used to be done more, I think, is related to men chauvinism, men ahead of women sort of way of thinking. But I think it's changing.
