B: Good morning! Please sit down. Please tell us your name and where you are from.

Thank you. My name is ○○○○, and I come from ○○○○ city in Saitama Prefecture.

A: Thank you for coming so far away. Now I suppose I were a foreign tourist, and answer my questions. What do you think about the growing number of foreign marriages?

(予定していなかった質問であったので、あわててしまい、良い回答ができなかった)

Today, young people become friends with foreigners quite easily. I think that is the reason.

A: Is there any difference between men and women?

Not much difference, I think. But, as for the number, there are more cases in women. Probably, John Lennon and Yoko Ono must have had a great influence.

(下手な英語でますます上がってしまった)

A: Well, next question. May I ask your opinion about dispatching Japanese troops to Iraq?

(これも予想していなかった質問であったので、しどろもどろの回答になってしまった。落ち着けば、それなりの回答ができたのに…残念!)

Well, battles still continue there, so I think Japan should not send the troops.

A: Why did Japan send the troops to Iraq?

I think that's because Mr. Koizumi promised the US to send the troops.

A: What do you think Japan should do?

I think Japan should withdraw the troops in the near future.

A: Another question. What's "hachimaki"?

It is a kind of a head band. We wear it to show firm determination.

A: Is it the same with the sport band?

No. Sport band is something to keep off sweats. We wear "hachimaki" to show high spirit.

A: Where can I buy "hachimaki"?

Probably you can get "hachimaki" at souvenir shops in Asakusa.

A: How much should I pay?

Maybe around one thousand yen or so.

A: That expensive? Can I get one at 100 yen shops?

I don't think so. They don't sell "hachimaki" at that kind of shops.

A: Well, that's all. Thank you for coming.

Thank you!
