A： What is futon?（いきなりこれから来たかという感じ）
Futon is a quilt stuffed with cotton. Some quilts are stuffed with wool or down. When not in use it is stored in a closet. When in use it is placed on the tatami mat as and used as bedding.
A： What do you think of smoking and non-smoking.
I think the number of smokers is decreasing dramatically and it is a good thing if this trend continues.
A： I understand. What is genkan?
Genkan is a small hallway to welcome guests and family members. The concept of Genkan is to separate inside and outside. So people take off their shoes and then step into a living quarter.
A： Why are so many young people going out to work overseas?
Young people nowadays are enthusiastic about working abroad compared to the past generation. And after the bursting of the bubble economy, the lifetime employment and seniority systems have collapsed. It is hard for young people to get job, so they are going overseas to work.
A： I understand…and…
A： Last question. Space travel attracts a lot of people. What do you think about this?
It is very impressive. Yesterday, I saw on TV that Japan Space Agency successfully send a rocket to space. I hope I will be able to go to space in the near future. But it is a little bit expensive to do that.
