Hello.

A:Hello, you can put your bags around here.

Thank you.

A: Have a seat.

B: Tell me you name.

My name is ….

A: Where do you live?

I live in …, Ibaraki prefecture. It is near Tsukuba, the science city.

A: Please explain about the seasons in Japan.

All the seasons?

A: Yes.

Well… as you know, there are four seasons in Japan. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
I hate spring because I have hay fever.(B笑) Summer is boiling hot. Autumn is good, but I love winter. This is because I stayed in Sapporo when I was a college student. Winter reminds me of the happy old days.

A: OK. Suppose I am a tourist from Canada. You are a guide.Where would you recommend as the best places to see on a tour of Japan? And what is the best season?

Well … I recommend that you visit shrines and temples in autumn. I chose autumn because the autumn leaves are beautiful. The combination of fallen leaves and historical monuments is refreshing.

A: Thank you. Well ... Who is the most important person in Japanese history?

In the whole history of Japan ?

A: Yes, the whole history.

B:The previous person mentioned Ryouma Sakamoto.

OK, the most important person is Takamori Saigo. He lived in the Meiji era. In those days there were lots of samurai warriors. But in the Meiji era, the samurai class lost a lot of the privileges they used to have. For example, they lost the right to receive pension from the shogun or samurai leader. There was a lot of frustration. Saigo was the top leader of the samurai. Then the Seinan War started, and he took leadership. Finally, he committed suicide and this made all samurai warriors realize that the samurai period was really over.
To tell the truth, my ancestors were from the samurai clan, and after this war, my ancestors changed their jobs to become farmers. That is why he was a tragic hero in Japan.
