Usually, we wear a kimono on ceremonial occasions such as wedding receptions or during New Year’s holidays.

No, not so often. But in summer, we can see many people wearing a cotton kimono called “yukata” at festivals. Yukata is much easier to put on than a usual kimono.

Kimono is very expensive. But yukata usually costs around 10000 yen, so we can more easily buy yukata.

Japanese people prefer to acting as a group. For example, some Japanese couples go on honeymoon in a group tour. They tend to feel safe when they are in a group and do the same thing.
A: I am a home-stay student. What should I notice when I visit the Japanese home for the first time?
First, you should take off your shoes at the entrance of the house. Also It might be a good idea to take a small gift in order to express greetings.
A: How about when taking a shower?
Japanese people prefer to soak in a bathtub than just to take a shower. You should be careful not to wash and rinse yourself inside the bathtub. We do those outside the tub.
