A: Good morning! Please have a seat.

Good morning! Thank you.

B: First of all, will you please tell us you full name and addressH

My name is xxxx. I live in Kiba in Kotoku ward, Tokyo.

A: I would like to ask you some questions. Please explain the Japanese climate.

Japan has four clear-cut seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. There is a rainy season between spring and summer.

A: When can you see cherry blossoms?

We can see cherry blossoms in spring, at the end of March or the beginning of April.

A: Where can you see cherry blossoms?

We can see cherry blossoms at many places. In Tokyo, famous cherry blossom-viewing spots include Ueno Park, Shinjyuku Gyoen and Kitanomaru Park.

A: How about in Kyoto?

Heian-jingu is famous for cherry blossoms.

A: Which season do you recommend us to visit Japan?

I would recommend autumn. In autumn, it is not too cold or too hot. Also you can enjoy viewing beautiful colored leaves.

A: How about summer?

It is very hot and humid in summer. Temperature will be between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.

A: Then you donft recommend visiting Japan in summer?

Well, if you are interested in going to the beach and doing marine sports, then visiting Japan in summer is also good.

A: When do you wear a kimono?

Usually, we wear a kimono on ceremonial occasions such as wedding receptions or during New Yearfs holidays.

A: Do you often see people wearing a kimono in Tokyo or Kyoto?

No, not so often. But in summer, we can see many people wearing a cotton kimono called gyukatah at festivals. Yukata is much easier to put on than a usual kimono.

A: Around how much is a kimono?

Do you mean kimono or yukata?

A: Both.

Kimono is very expensive. But yukata usually costs around 10000 yen, so we can more easily buy yukata.

A: Please tell me about Japanese customs which foreigners should be aware of.

Japanese people prefer to acting as a group. For example, some Japanese couples go on honeymoon in a group tour. They tend to feel safe when they are in a group and do the same thing.

A: I am a home-stay student. What should I notice when I visit the Japanese home for the first time?

First, you should take off your shoes at the entrance of the house. Also It might be a good idea to take a small gift in order to express greetings.

A: How about when taking a shower?

Japanese people prefer to soak in a bathtub than just to take a shower. You should be careful not to wash and rinse yourself inside the bathtub. We do those outside the tub.

A: Can I take a bath in the morning?

Yes, you can take a bath in the morning. No problem.

A: Thatfs all. Thank you.

Thank you very much.
