A: Please sit down.

Thank you.

B: Could you give us your name and address, please?

My name is ○○○○, and I am from Nishikawa, Tokyo.

A: I will ask you some questions. I’m a tourist and you are a tour guide, OK? There are many hot springs in Japan. Why is that?

Japan is full of mountains and forests. Forests can stock much water when it rains and the magma under the mountain heats up the water. That’s why there are many hot springs throughout Japan.

(考えて、Japan has about 10% of the world’s volcanoes. Japan has many volcanic zones. と言おうとしたが、次の質問に移る。結局言えず、後に尾を引く。)

A: Has Japanese eating habit changed?

(考えて)
After World WarU, Japanese eating habit greatly changed. Demand for rice reduced and demand for meat rose. Those days Japanese ate healthier food such as rice, miso soup, fish and vegetables. However, these days more and more Japanese are on a meat-oriented diet. Therefore the number of the people who are suffering from various adult diseases such as diabetes is also increasing.

Himej Castle is the most famous in Japan. It was registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list and is nicknamed “White Heron” Castle because of its white walls which are covered with white plaster.
The castle is built of wood, not stones, so white plaster was used for fire prevention. was registered on UNESCO's World Heritage list,

A: Tell me when it was built.

It is said that the castle was built in about 1600.

A: Tell me about Japan’s geography other than volcanoes.

Japan is a relatively small and narrow country. It is surrounded by the sea and is composed of 4 major islands and many small islands. The 4 major islands are Hokkaiodo, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Japan stretches from northeast to southwest, and the length is approximately 3500 km. Japanese people live in limited plain fields. However, people can enjoy the harmony of the natural beauty of greenness, beautiful lakes and rivers.
