B: Please put your bag on the table.
Sure.
A: How are you?
Actually, so-so. I'm a little bit nervous.
B: Oh, are you?
Yes.
A: OK. Let's start. Please tell us your name.
My name is XXX.
A: And where are you from?
I'm from YYY.
A: What is YYY City like?
YYY City is mountainous.
A: Mountainous?
Yes. About 67%of the city is forest. So we can enjoy lots of wildlife. Two days ago, I heard a wild deer crying.
B: Wild deer? How nice!
Yes, and very close to my garden.
A: Ok. Next question. Now, Japan is said to face to a big earthquake. What should we do?
As you know, we had a big earthquake called Hanshin-Awaji Daishinsai. And I believe the Japanese government takes a proper action. For example, Municipal or local communities prepare an evacuation packs.
A: But I'm a foreigner. What should I do when I'm in a hotel?
You should check the emergency exit when you get to the hotel. And also ask the staff what you should do.
A: I see. These days I'm interested in Buddhism. What is the Buddhism?
Buddhism originated in India in the 5th century B.C. It was introduced to Japan in the 6th century via China and Korea. As attracting people with power, it spread all over Japan. Buddhism always has a big influence on Japanese culture. In the Edo period, Tokugawa shogunate ordered all the people to register to the local temples. And this is why Japanese families have their family temples even now.
A: Can you tell me the difference of Buddhist statures?
Yes. Actually, I was a member of the traditional culture club. So I can. For example, the statures in Kamakura period have glass eyes. Go bake to the Heian period, the Buddhist statures in Heian have a strong influence of ...I forget the Chinese name....but influence of China that time. You can find them in their clothing.
A: I see. I'd like to buy an i-pod. Which place do you recommend?
I recommend Akihabara. There are many electric appliance shops there.
A: Can I get discount?
Of course. I'm sure you can get a good bargain.
A: Do you know a good shop?
Sorry I don't know. But I can ask my sons.
A: Your sons?
Yes. They know good shops very well.
A: O.K. That's it. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing time. Good-by.
A: Good-by. See you!
