There are samurai,marchandise people,and farmers.(時制が現在形になってしまった)Merchandise people sell very various things such as soy sauce,fish,and other kind of foods.
B: Were samurai the top of the class?
Yes, samurai is top of the class.
B: Then, what is the last class?
Merchandise people are the last class. But, farmers are regarded as the last class, actually. They worked very hard, so Edo period is very tough time for them. (しどろもどろ)
