People’s life was drastically changed. For example, people started to wear Western clothes, eat more meat, and men cut their topknots.
A: Topknots?

We can get many kinds of fish around Japan. For example, saury, mackerel, salmon,(鮭は近海魚じゃなかった事に気付き)well it’s caught far from Japan, (気を取り直し)sardine, octopus, and squid.
A: Which fish do you like the most?
I like mackerel. It tastes good with good oil.(脂がのってると言いたかったが変な英語になってしまった)
A: O.K. Thank you for your time.

Thank you very much. I’m pleased to be here.
(Thank you very much.
