B: What is your name? And where are you from?
My name is XXX, and I live in .....city.
A: I'm going to ask you several questions. What is "Tsuyu"?

It is the season between spring and summer, and we have much rain.
A: Does it rain every day?

Not every day, but almost every day. Because of the rainy season, we get a good harvest.
Aがうなずき、納得した様子。
A: What kind of fish do you get around the Sea of Japan?

Tuna. We get tuna in a big ship.
なぜか、この時魚の名前をほかに思いつかなかった。料理問題だったら、連想できたのに、このように思いがけない形で魚の名前を挙げることになるとは思っていなかったので、連想できなかった。
A: What kind of fish do you like best?
I like tuna best.
また、同じ魚をあげてしまい、つまらない答えだったが、思い切り表情をこめて言った。
A: Is tuna the best in Sashimi?

Yes, I like tuna best in Sashimi.
A: What is the difference between Shinto Shrine and Buddhist Temple?

Both are the places we worship. But as for Shinto shrines, gods of Shintoism are placed and as for Buddhist temples, Buddha is placed.
A: When do you go to shrines and temples?

We go to shrines on auspicious occasions such as wedding, shichi-go-san, and when a baby is born. As for the temples, we go there on such occasions connected with the death.
A: I'd like to ask you about Japan's geographical features.

What are they?
Japan is a mountainous country and has many volcanoes, so there are many hot springs in Japan.
A: Can I bathe in a hot spring with my swim wear on?
Well, it depends on places, but there are some places where you can bathe with your swim wear on like the hot springs in hotels.
A: That's very nice. What effects did the Meiji Restoration give to Japan?

There was "the seclusion policy" in Japan and after it opened the country, by the Meiji Restoration, both modernization and westernization took place. Also we cherished our own culture, though.
A: When were the Summer Olympics held last in Japan?

Well, they were about twenty years ago...no, it was a mistake.
They were about forty-four years ago when I was a little child.
A: That is a correct answer. (laughing) But it was a silly question. I'm sorry. I was also a little child at that time and I remember.
A: What part of Japan do you like best in Japan, and want to take foreign tourists?

I like Kamakura best, because I live in Kamakura city.
A: What is the charm of Kamakura?

It is that it has the beautiful seashore and many historical sites.
A: What temple do you like best in Japan?

I like the Houryuji Temple the best. It is in Nara prefecture and was built in ancient times. It is the oldest wooden temple in Japan and even in the world. And it is the world heritage.
A: This is the last question. Why do you want to be a tourist guide?

I have many friends in the United States and in Australia.
And they are more and more interested in Japanese culture these days.
I want to introduce them Japanese deep sophisticated culture as a tourist guide.
A: Thank you very much.

Is this the end of the interview?
A:Yes, it is.(にこやかに)

Thank you. I enjoyed the interview.(こう言ったときは、二人の試験官がすでに話し合いを始めていて、聞いていなかったようです。)
