Hello, how are you?

I am fine, thank you. How about you?

I am fine. Please put your bag here.

Thank you.

Thank you for waiting so long for this interview.

No problem.

Please tell me your name, and where you live.

My name is ........ and I live in ........ city, ........ Prefecture.

OK. Please tell me about Sumo.

Sumo is a traditional Japanese-style wrestling. It was originally a Shinto ritual. There are two wrestlers on the ring, and when either one is pushed out of the ring, or falls on the ground, then the opponent wins.(焦ってしまい、文法がめちゃくちゃになってしまいました)And they throw salt on the ring before the bout, since salt is thought to be sacred and it is thought to purify the ring.(焦って矢継ぎ早に発言したので、早く次の質問に移りたそうなAの表情が見えました)

Where and when can I see them?

The Grand Sumo tournament is held six times a year, so it is in every other month. And it is performed throughout the country, once in Tokyo and another in other part of Japan. You can see them in a gymnastic arena.

I am staying in Tokyo, and if I have only one day for sightseeing, where would you take me?

I would take you to Hakone. Sorry, it is not in Tokyo, it is actually in Kanagawa Prefecture. But it is next to the Tokyo Metropolitan area, and it takes about one and a half hours by train from Tokyo Station. And you can enjoy many hot springs there, and you can also enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Fuji from Hakone. And it has many beautiful natural scenes there. You would love it.

If I have a few days for sightseeing, would Hakone be a good choice?

Yes, you can just relax and stay overnight. It will be great.

If I want to buy modern things in Tokyo, where would you recommend?

If you are interested in electronic gadgets, I would recommend Akihabara. If you take a Sobu Line train, Akihabara is right next to Tokyo Station. There you can buy high-quality Japanese electronic goods. And also you can see Otaku there. Otaku means people with obsessive interest in Manga or Anime. So you can enjoy Japanese pop culture, too.(やはり、無理やりオタクの話を持ち出した感が否めません)

I heard that children go to Juku. What is Juku?

Well, I used to go to Juku when I was very young, too. Juku is a kind of preparatory school. These days, junior high schools don't teach children enough to help them get into good high schools or eventually universities. So children must go to Juku for their extra study.

Are children happy about going to Juku?

Well, it depends. Kids that are motivated to study are delighted. But others just want more time to play, I guess.

Tell me about Giri.

Giri is the sense of social obligation. There is a word called Ninjo, which is a warm heart that people have since their birth. For example, you can see Giri in a situation like this. When a professional baseball player has a family affair, like his wife is sick, then he still continues to play on the team, instead of going to the hospital to visit his wife. So he sacrifices himself for the organization or team that he belongs to.

The last question is, which season do you like best?

I like autumn best. Because the climate is relatively mild. And I like the colorful leaves, turning into yellow and red. And I also enjoy the delicious food in autumn. Vegetables and seafood in season are very delicious.

Okay that's all. Please enjoy the evening.

Thank you very much. Bye-bye.
